The Welsh Board

The Board is the team that keeps the whole party on track.

It:

• Signs off the annual budget and keeps an eye on the party’s finances.
• Makes sure everything the party does follows the law.
• Sets the long-term direction and ensures we stick to it.
• Decides how our staff team is structured and appoints someone to manage them day-to-day.
• Helps shape the party’s overall message, working closely with the campaigns and policy teams.
• Makes sure all committees are doing their jobs properly and steps in if something needs fixing.
• Makes political appointments to outside bodies and reports them to Conference.
• Approves who sits on campaign teams and manifesto groups after they’re nominated.
• Gives the final sign-off on our election manifestos.
• Ensures the party reflects and serves Wales’s diverse communities.
• Takes on any extra roles given to it by Conference or the Constitution.
