Scrap Police & Crime Commissioners

Police and Crime Commissioners in Wales cost the taxpayer at least £22.5 million in the three years between 2019-2023 with Plaid Cymru's PCC for Dyfed-Powys topping the list for the entire country at £14.6 million. (South Wales PPC was £5.6 million, Gwent £2.6 million and North Wales police did not respond).

The Liberal Democrats want to see these pencil-pushing political positions scrapped and the money spent on front-line policing.

The money spent by Plaid Cymru in Dyfed Powys alone would have funded an additional 137 officers in the force.
