Champions for Children: tackling child poverty, intervening early and keeping children safe

We want to see every candidate and political party during the election campaign and throughout the next Senedd term to be strong and committed Champions for Children. Babies, children and young people deserve to be heard in decisions that shape their lives and have politicians who will defend their rights and promote their wellbeing, helping them to thrive and have happy, safe and healthy childhoods. Chaired by Jane Dodds MS, the panel will include representatives from Children in Wales, Barnardo’s Cymru, NSPCC Cymru and Save the Children Wales, who will set out what actions politicians need to take to truly be Champions for Children.

Panel Members

  • Jane Dodds MS (Chair)
  • Sean O’Neill (Children in Wales)
  • Catherine Rees (Save the Children Wales)
  • Mark Carter (Barnardo’s Cymru)
  • Cecile Gwilym (NSPCC Cymru)
