The Conservative Party is robbing Wales of billions of pounds worth of public transport funding.
Wales should be getting £5 billion in funding to use for public transport as a result of HS2 being built in England, but the Conservatives have chosen to classify the project as "England and Wales" meaning Wales will receive no funding.
Perhaps more insultingly, the Conservatives have now repeated this daylight robbery by also classifying ‘Northern Powerhouse Rail’ in the same way, depriving Wales of a further £1 billion it could have spent on public transport.
Anyone in Wales would be able to testify how abysmal our public transport system is, yet the Tories are determined to make sure we don't have the tools to improve this. Not only does this make life more difficult for everyday families, but it puts businesses off investing in Wales.
Labour wants to let the Tories get away with this. But the Liberal Democrats would ensure they don't.
