10 Years Since Brexit: Farage and Reform Must Answer for the Damage Done to Wales

Commenting on the 10-year anniversary of Brexit, Welsh Liberal Democrat Westminster Spokesperson David Chadwick MP said:

"Ten years on from the Brexit referendum, it is clear that Brexit has not improved livelihoods or helped solve any of the problems Wales faces as a nation. The Conservatives and Reform sold Brexit as a silver bullet, but instead, has been more of a rock dragging us down.

"Wales has been one of the parts of the UK hardest hit by Brexit, with our economy paying the price for a decade of broken promises.

"Ten years on, Nigel Farage and Reform must answer for the damage Brexit has done to Wales. Yet instead of admitting they got it wrong, they continue to demand more of the same failed approach.

"The Liberal Democrats were the strongest opponents of Brexit from the very beginning, and we remain convinced that Britain and Wales' future lies at the heart of Europe.

"That's why we are calling for the UK to immediately rejoin the Single Market, boosting growth and cutting costs for families and businesses, as the first step towards eventually rejoining the European Union and rebuilding the opportunities that were taken away from a generation."
