New Government Transport Plans Deprive Wales of Investment Yet Again

An announcement by the UK Government of another round of transport infrastructure projects by the Secretary of State for Transport today will see Wales miss out on vital spending yet again.

Not one of the new major projects announced by the UK Labour Government today will be based in Wales.

Commenting, Welsh Liberal Democrat Westminster Spokesperson David Chadwick MP said:

“The Secretary of State for Transport spoke today in the Commons about ‘reconnecting Britain’, yet not a single one of the major projects announced today will benefit Wales.

“This comes just after the spending review completely failed to address the shortfall in rail funding Wales has received for several years and is now set to experience for years to come.

“Time after time, Labour are demonstrating they have completely given up on Wales. The Welsh Liberal Democrats will continue to make the argument for investment in our infrastructure to drive economic growth across Wales.”
