Sir Fynwy Torfaen
Sir Fynwy Torfaen is a new Senedd constituency which comprises the Westminster constituencies of Monmouthshire and Torfaen
1) Kevin Wilkins
By profession a fundraiser for science and now a researcher, Kevin lives in Abergavenny having returned to Wales after 30 years living and working in and around Cambridge.
He has long experience of successful community campaigning; over the years, he has successfully fought to save a library, a post office and a bus service when they were under threat and he helped save an avenue of cherry trees from the axe. If elected, improving our NHS and protecting our rivers would be his top priorities.
Kevin was born in Bridgend and brought up in the Vale of Glamorgan and close to the Forest of Dean.
3) Vicky Hepburn-John
Vicky grew up near Raglan and went to Monmouth Comprehensive School. After studying History at Aberystwyth University, she had a successful corporate career, returning to Monmouthshire in 2008.
For over 20 years, she has worked in education, the charity sector and children’s social care, focusing on the needs of vulnerable children, young people and their families. She cares passionately about improving children’s mental health and wellbeing and increasing opportunities for children and young people across Wales.
Vicky joined the Liberal Democrats in 2015 and has been an active campaigner in many elections. She lives with her husband and son in North Monmouthshire and has been a Community Councillor, vice-chair of Cross Ash Village Hall and is currently an active Parent Governor at her son’s primary school. She believes that rural areas need more investment and support in order to build stronger, thriving communities and reduce isolation and inequality.
