The crisis in NHS dentistry in Wales looks set to get even worse following the publication of figures this week by the Welsh Government that show 14% of dentists in Wales are approaching retirement.
Speaking in Questions to the Health Minister today, Welsh Liberal Democrat Leader Jane Dodds MS has stated major questions still need addressed over the disastrous situation at Betsi Cadwaladr Health Board, stating it is still not clear why the independent board seem to be taking the fall for the poor management of executives and why the Health Board was ever taken out of special measures in the first place.
This St David’s Day, the Welsh Liberal Democrats have reiterated their calls for the day to become a public holiday in Wales urging other political parties to back a Bill they have put to parliament that would allow the Senedd to designate the day as such.
Responding to comments by the British Dental Association Wales on the situation of NHS dentistry in Wales, Welsh Liberal Democrat Leader Jane Dodds said:
